The library is located along the seashore of China Bohai Bay. The design key point is focused on exploring the co-existing relationship of the space boundary, the movement of human body, the shifting light ambience, the air ventilating through and the ocean view. The library faces the ocean to its east. During seasons of spring, summer and fall, it not only serves the community residents at west, but opens to the public as well.
70% of the houses in a village sitting on one of the Zhoushan Islands are hollow, but the stone structures, with their building material sourced from the local area, are quite solid and integrally constructed.

The world’s largest bookstore just opened in Tehran, Iran. The Book Garden is a gigantic green-roofed building measuring 154,000 square feet that has 12 miles of shelves packed with millions of books. The project is part of a larger 700,000 square foot complex that features several movie theaters, science halls, classrooms, a prayer room and a restaurant.

Heatherwick Studio won a competition to design a special building for Nanyang Technological University in Singapore with the brief to create a new kind of learning environment for the digital age. The university staff wanted the structure to promote new learning methods within tutorial rooms where students would work together with the tutor as facilitator. With digital technologies enabling students to learn anywhere other than universities, the old model of life-less classrooms off long daylight-less corridors seemed dead.
